2015 Two Harbors Kayak Festival We offer kayak races: John Abrahams 18 Mile Marathon, Ellen Anderson 10 Mile Kayak and SUP Race,Betty's Pies Kayak and SUP 5 Mile race, all with various age groups and boat categories. Youth Races - (which are Free no pre-registration needed), In addition to the races there is kayak equipment and demos, stand up paddle boarding demos & classes, beginning level instructional tours, kids kayaking and Stand-up Paddle Boards, music, food, fun, and more! There is something for everyone at this one of a kind paddling festival.
2015 events: July 9-12, Heritage Days. July 18-19, Chalk-A-Lot Sidewalk Art Festival. Aug. 8-9, Two Harbors Kayak Festival.
The city also hosts the Lake County Fair, The Two Harbors Folk Festival, Heritage Days, and the Two Harbors Kayak Festival. Two Harbors is one of the checkpoints for the Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, as well as the start line for the Grandma's Marathon and the NorthShore Inline Marathon. Writer Dean Hovey set a 2012 mystery in a fictional Two Harbors senior living center titled, "Whispering Pines".
