The Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center (MIWRC) is a non-profit community organization that provides holistic social services and education to American Indian women and their families. Established in 1984 by four local American Indian women, MIWRC operates on a continuum of direct service, community advocacy, and broader systems-change work to advance racial, social, and economic equity for our target population.
The Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center has published two studies on the commercial sexual exploitation of women and girls in Minnesota, particularly in the American Indian community. Both reports have informed, educated and improved dialogue among care providers, law enforcement and community leaders and revolutionized the way this issue is being addressed in our state.
