This website is a result of the ??Digital Archives of Formosan Aborigines?? under the ??National Digital Archives Program?? planned by the Academia Sinica. The ??Digital Archives of Formosan Aborigines?? is based on the Formosan Aboriginal cultural relics, literature, and audio-video information archived by the Museum, Library, and researchers of the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica. The various kinds of information are digitalized and archived.
For the time being, the Digital Archives of Formosan Aborigines include approximately 2000 images, 300 maps, 400 land contracts, 50 hours of music, 120 hours of oral history, 50 hours of video data and 2000 research bibliography. This digital archives will increase its collection for the next four years.
The Digital Archives of Formosan Aborigines (DAFA) aims at digitizing and archives building of the ethnological collections of Taiwan aborigines at the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica. DAFA includes 13 different types of data, such as：images, artifacts, population, settlements, research bibliography, research tables, research maps, traditional land contracts, ethnomusical data, field video, field interview, multimedia publications and Ch?ing documents regarding Taiwan aborigines from National Palace Museum.
