Academic Personnel provides support to faculty and administration on a wide variety of matters - from faculty appointments to the Retention, Tenure & Promotion process, from Sabbatical Leaves to the Faculty Early Retirement Program. We are also responsible for matters relating to academic student appointments (Unit 11 - Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, and Instructional Student Assistants).
Academic Personnel and Programs develops, implements and manages policies and procedures pertaining to the employment relationship between an academic appointee and the University of California. These policies and procedures are issued by the Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and published in the Academic Personnel Manual (APM).   The Policy Development Process is designed to insure that APM policies undergo comprehensive review and meet certain standards.
Office of Academic Personnel Welcome to the California State University, San Bernardino office of Academic Personnel. As a division of Academic Affairs, we provide support to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, Department Chairs and faculty on academic personnel matters. Our office provides leadership and oversight of academic policy and procedures in a manner that supports the overall academic goals, mission and strategic plan of the university.
