The American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D. C. is a National Historic Landmark.
The American Red Cross National Headquarters is located in Washington and it represents a national landmark; it supplies more than 40 percent of the donated blood in the U. S. This blood is then sent to hospitals and regional suppliers. Is is also the Red Cross that provided allograft tissue, which was used for transplants; Red Cross did that through its sales in Tissue Services Program. Back in 2005, the Tissue Service stopped, as the organization declared its desire to be involved even more in disaster relief.
