Region Adjacency Graph (RAG) by David Legland David Legland (view profile).
RAG,Region Adjacency Graph, regional adjacency graphs, region adjacency graphs,Regions adjacency graph Region Adjacency Graph - RAG.
Computes region adjacency graph of a labeled 2D or 3D image. Two regions are considered as neighbor if they are separated by a background (i. e. with color 0) pixel in the horizontal or vertical direction, as well as depth direction for 3D images. The result is a N*2 array, containing 2 indices for each couple of neighbor regions.
This paper presents an interactive method for 3D images segmentation. This method is based on a region adjacency graph representation that improves and simplifies the segmentation process. This graph representation allows the user to easily define some splitting and merging operations which gives the possibility to make an incremental construction of the final segmentation. To validate the interest of the proposed method, our interactive proposition has been integrated into a volumetric texture segmentation process.
